LG French Door Refrigerator


Bought an LG French door refrigerator. Came back from a funeral (out of town) to find the refrigerator had stopped working...had power but none came into the refrigerator. Called an LG technician and was told it was the control panel. Paid to have that replaced ($350). Three months later came back from vacation (little food in the refrigerator) and the food was freezing up. Called repairman again and had a sensor replaced ($150). Also, was told to replace the gasket since it was torn ($213). A few days later food freezing again. Called and they did come over, but said that it was the control panel. After a few months with a new control panel I explained that it must have been defective and they should replace it gratis. They sent another technician (I put the temp down to 2 instead of 4 to try to keep the food from freezing up) and he stuck his hand in the refrigerator and told me that it was appropriately cold for a :"2"! The last technician told me that the control panel was defective!!!!
Needless to say I am really frustrated. I wish they would have told me that after they charged me for every part imaginable that they would just say "live with it". I would have saved my money for a new refrigerator.
I have lived quite a few years and am from a generation of hard workers who took pride in their work. They were honest people who came to your home for as long as it took to get something fixed and didn't recharge you for it. Most of the time it was fixed the first time they entered your house. The appliances worked for years and years. The customer was serviced and they wanted to you happy! In the interim they had quite a business for themselves because people trusted them.
I am frustrated no end with people taking advantage and scooping up the money and in the end the customer is run over. I really hope someday it turns around. I know LG will do nothing about it (from what I see from other reviewers), but thanks for listening.
